Columbia Ice fields in Jasper

Pictures, at least trying.

                                                                      Smithers B.C.

Beyond Idaho

We left our friends Tom and Jane in Coeur d Alane and headed into Canada July 22, That night we camped at Fairmont hot springs. Lots and lots of Alberta tourists. Drove north through Jasper National park. The scenery on this section is fantastic. The Columbia ice fields were awesome. That night we camped at Mt. Robson Provincial park, The next day we headed west through Prince George and stopped at Smithers B,C, for the night. We are staying here today July 25. Tomorrow we will take on the Cassaire highway north to Watson lake in the Yukon. That might take 2 days, not sure. We will probably be out of touch for a few days.
Lorraine is taking lots of pictures, that is an understatement of the highest order. I will try to get better at posting pictures with the lap top.
Maggie is a good traveler no problem,

Ok I just lost my first post with pictures so this is the short story. Flying J truck stop in Mandan ND. the first night. Medora N.D. today. On the road to MT tomorrow. Here goes the pictures.
It took way to long to down load the pictures, I will try to figure that out.
Special prayers to my brother Bill in the hospital in Des Moines

the post I lost

Our first day on the road came to an end at 9p.m. at the Flying J truck stop in Mandan N.D.
Monday morning Lorraine took the helm and drove us to the Theador Roosevelt national park at Medora N.D.
Our senior pass got us in free and the senior camping was $7 not bad huh? We spent all day checking out the sights in this beautiful park. We popped for ice cream in the neat cowboy town of Medora.
By mid afternoon the temperature was 92 degs, now I wish I had the 3000w inverter for the a.c.
Our 2000w Honda is a little to small. We need to speed up and get into the mountains sooner.
Maggie parked herself right in front of a fan in the camper. Saw buffalo, antelope, prairie dogs and deer. 8 to 11 mpg into headwinds at 62 mph. But we filled up with fuel at one place for $1.999/gal.
I think we will headed for Helena MT. tomorrow then on to  Coeur  d Alene Idaho maybe get there on Wednesday. Sending some special prayers to my brother Bill in a hospital in Des Moines.
Ok here we go with some pictures, I'll try to title them if it dosent work you will have to try and figure them out. Ok my grammer nazi daughter in-law go for it.

Almost ready to go

The truck and camper are packed, we are ready to launch tomorrow, Sunday July 17.
This blog is a whole new technology for us please pardon the miscues that are sure to happen.
We will post pictures and stories as our adventure continues. We are headed west then north through Canada then on to Alaska. We think we will be back sometime in September.
Just the 3 amigos, Bob, Lorraine and our 13 year old pooch Maggie
